2nd Season Championship
July 29th, 2023
With the debate season over, it's time to end it off with our 2nd Season Championship. Use what you've learned over the summer to kick off a successful new debate season! This year, we're hosting Congress, Extemporaneous Speaking, Public Forum, and World Schools.

Pre-NSDA Tournament
June 9th, 2023
We hosted a completely free and online camp + tournament to help debaters prepare for 2023 NSDA Nationals! The tournament used topics from the actual national championship. This tournament featured both Congressional Debate and Extemporaneous Speaking.

Pre-NSDA Camp
June 5th - 8th, 2023
We hosted a free camp to help competitors get prepared for the 2023 National Speech & Debate Championship. This camp featured two events: Congressional Debate and Extemporaneous Speaking.
Congress
Labs
Lab leaders: Nick Ostheimer, Carter McDonald, Georgia Liu, CJ Getting
Camp members were organized into two different labs: Red Lab and Blue Lab
Red Lab taught more experienced lessons, for the debaters who were looking to refresh core concepts.
Blue Lab taught beginners concepts, for the debaters who were looking to start their debate career.
Both labs went from 12-5pm EST
Each lab held 2-3 lessons, and would run a practice round at the end of the day where students could apply their lessons in a competitive setting.
Lectures
Each day, students would attend live lectures from two different guest speakers! Camp members can choose which lecture they would like to attend, and each lecture would teach a different lesson.
Some notable guest speakers include Zachary Wu, 2x Harvard Congress Champion and Mike Kaiser, Yale Champion!

The extemp camp prepared students for the National Speech & Debate Championship by focusing on practice speeches, drills, and topic lecture.
2nd Spring Break Special
April 8th - 9th, 2023
The Spring Break Special is one of our more popular and lighthearted tournaments during the school year. But also, very important! With TOC (Tournament of Champions) right around the corner, we offered a free tournament judged by professionals to any competitor looking for some practice. This tournament featured Congress, Extemporaneous Speaking, Public Forum, and World Schools!

Winter WSD Championship

World Schools is one of our favorite events here at EIF, and we wanted to pay some tribute to our community by hosting the Winter WSD Championship. Completely free, open to anyone looking for a fun debate with their friends!
